The formation of the Legacy Fund is Jos. Schmitt’s way of giving back to our community, sharing our prosperity as a growing construction company, and ensuring that the next generation has an equal or better chance to succeed! The fund has awarded over $600,000 in grants since 2007, with some past recipients being Concordia University, Urban Middle School, and Aurora Health Care (to name just a few).
As part of the ongoing building addition at Sheboygan Christian School in Sheboygan, Wisconsin, the entire cafeteria was scheduled for a remodel. This meant that the Blessed Bean, a high school student-run coffee shop, would be demolished. When the business students started planning for a brand-new Blessed Bean, the vision carried a hefty price tag: $55,000. Unfortunately, this was far too big a financial hurdle for the fledgling business!
Enter Jos. Schmitt Construction. As Sheboygan Christian Schools’ construction partner for three building projects in the last five years, our team didn’t like the idea of this thriving business program giving up on its dream. So Jos. Schmitt Construction recently visited the Blessed Bean business class and surprised them with a check for $60,000. The students, teachers, and administrators were blown away!
