Meals on Wheels provides meals to those in Sheboygan County that have a hard time cooking for themselves.
Because of the thousands of volunteers that come to deliver meals every week, Meals on Wheels needed a larger, more accessible facility. It was their goal to start producing all the meals themselves in their own facility instead of using a third party service. By doing this, they can ensure that the people receiving meals on a daily basis are getting the highest quality food possible.
In November 2012, Meals on Wheels moved into a completely renovated building (11,419 sf) along with a 1,658 sf addition. This building houses 8 new offices, a larger conference room, a large gathering space, a 7,000-sq.-ft. production kitchen and a garage for their delivery vehicles. This new facility will help Meals on Wheels better serve their clients and improve the delivery process for the thousands of volunteers that so graciously donate their time and money for this program.
