Sheboygan South High School

The additions and renovations to South High School are the first major physical education, athletic, and community-use improvements to the school since its construction in the1960s.

The high school received a new gymnasium with a 160-meter indoor track facility that can accommodate four gym classes simultaneously. The new gymnasium has seating for approximately 2,800 spectators. It included four locker rooms – two team lockers rooms and two that serve as community locker rooms.

Also, the addition included a new cafeteria/commons area with elevated performance platforms, concession rooms, school store, serving kitchen and server area, and out-of-season coaches offices.

The existing cafeteria area was renovated into weight/cardio/aerobic rooms (approximately 10,000 s.f. each). A renewed focus on life-long fitness was a major theme of this project. Providing students as well as community members with access to cardiovascular and weight equipment, gymnasium facilities, and health training programs.
