The Founders Club

This adaptive reuse project revitalized the former Sheboygan Senior Community facility, a structure originally built in 1970 by third-generation leader Donald Schmitt. Representing a multi-generational legacy, his sons Steven and Reed Schmitt oversaw the renovation to preserve the landmark from demolition.

Now known as The Founder’s Club, the six-story structure provides 273 beds for area interns and seasonal workers. Jos. Schmitt Construction converted the facility into 142 units, integrating specialized amenities including a 26-seat movie theater and recreation spaces to provide a modern residential solution for the local workforce.
