Humane Society of Sheboygan County Animal Shelter

Jos. Schmitt Construction led the development of the Carol Hollfelder Animal Shelter, a purpose-built facility that vastly expanded capacity for the region’s only open-admissions shelter. The structure replaced a constrained 1964 building and features a full-service veterinary clinic equipped with multiple surgery and dental stations to provide comprehensive in-house medical care.

The project also included a community education room, a retail store, and the 3.5-acre Muth Family Dog Park. Successfully delivered in 2022 despite pandemic-era challenges, the state-of-the-art shelter stands as a testament to local donor support and our firm’s commitment to advancing animal welfare throughout the Sheboygan County region.
